Drivers
4510, 4520, 4530, 4540 |
| The 4500 series are IBM coax and twinax attach only and have no driver support. |
Conversions
4510, 4520, 4530, 4540 |
The parts required to convert a 4500 series to a 4410 or 4440 with parallel and serial are obsolete
and no longer available. (When they were available, they cost around $1800).
Some third party vendors may carry parallel to coax or parallel to twinax to protocol converters. If considering
one of these options, note that the 4500 series has only the GENICOM ANSI emulation- there is no IBM or EPSON emulation.
It is heartily recommended that a new printer be considered. Current model line printers do not have the limits
imposed by the older technology of the 4500 series and their interfaces. |
Drivers
4490 |
| Later versions of the 4590 included parallel and serial interfaces. These printers will use
the 4490 drivers. |
