7612 Series - Manual Tray Selection
29 Feb 1996 Ed Palmer

Summary: On many page printers, a single sheet inserted into the manual slot will have precedence over any other tray selection. The mL17 and 7612 have a built in MultiPurpose (MP)/ manual feed tray. By default, this tray is in the MP mode, and is considered to be a second paper tray selection, and not a manual feed selection.

Solution: To switch the MP Tray to manual mode:

On receipt of a print job, the printer will now attempt to feed from the manual slot. If the manual tray is empty, paper is pulled from tray 1.

Note: for this to operate correctly, both Tray 1 and the MP feeder must be set to the same paper size.
