7612 - Print Quality Issues

Summary: Print quality problems such as horizontal streaks or ghosting. The printer has been thoroughly cleaned. The problem may occur immediately after replacing the print cartridge, or there may be a time interval.

Cause: Use of a remanufactured print cartridge.

Solutions:

Replace the remanufactured cartridge with an OEM cartridge.

Set the Media Type to Transparency and set the Power Save mode to Off:

• Take the printer off-line.
• Press and hold SHIFT then FEEDER.
• Press the UP arrow until the displays shows MEDIA TYPE.
• Press SET.
• Press the UP arrow until the display shows MEDIA TYPE=TRANSPARENCY.
• Press SET.
• Press SEL to place the printer on-line.
• Take the printer off-line.
• Press and hold SHIFT then ECONOMY.
• Press the UP arrow until the displays shows POWER SAVE.
• Press SET.
• Press the UP arrow until the display shows POWER SAVE=OFF.
• Press SET
• Press SEL to place the printer on-line.
