User Maintenance Kits / MAINT REQD

Summary: To maintain print quality, the microLaser IP series requires user maintenance at specific intervals. When the printer display shows MAINT REQD, the user maintenance kit needs to be installed.

Kits: Refer to SuppliesMax for the current kit numbers and ordering information.

• User maintenance is not normally covered under service contracts. Contact your service representative for more information.
• The fusers for these models are available only as part of the maintenance kit. Feed and transfer rollers are generally available as separate items.

Clearing the Message: To clear the MAINT REQD message, select MENU >> SYSTEM MENU >> RESET MAINT REQD. Do not clear the message until the maintenance kit is installed- this will reset the maintenance count and cause the next MAINT REQD message to show prematurely.

Details:

• The maintenance interval is based on the sheet count maintained by the engine controller.
• The sheet count is the number of pages that passes through the registration roller.
• The maintenance interval is completely independent of the toner count and toner useage.
• To obtain the current sheet count print the Summary Page per IP-SUMM-01 or view the printer Web Page per IP-WEB-01.
• When MAINT REQD is displayed, the printer will continue to print.
• Installation instructions are covered in the User Manual, as listed below. These kits are considered a user function and are not specifically covered in service manuals.
