Margin Settings Greater Than Two Inches
Models:
34XX, 35XX
Summary:
Setting a top and bottom margin greater than two inches on 34xx
and 35xx printers can be achieved with a bit of trickery.
Resolution:
The method is to change the lines per inch settng to 2 and the margin
setting to a value of at least 5. Next change the lines per inch
setting back to 6. The resulting margin setting will be greater than
the max value of 12 originally encountered at 6 lines per inch. The up
and down arrows can then be used to set the desired margin. If the
margin value rolls past the equivalent of one form length or less
than a value of 13, the max value selectable will revert back to
a value of 12 or 2 inches.
EXAMPLE 1: Set a Top Margin equal to 5 inches.
- Set the Lines Per Inch setting to 2.
- Set the Top Margin or Bottom Margin to a value of 10.
- Set the Lines Per Inch setting to 6. (The Top Margin will
now indicate a value of 30, equivalent to 5 inches).
- Save the current settings to the desired format.
EXAMPLE 2: Set a Top Margin equal to 27 lines at 6 LPI.
- Set the Lines Per Inch setting to 2.
- Set the Top Margin or Bottom Margin to a value of 10.
- Set the Lines Per Inch setting to 6. (The Top Margin will
now indicate a value of 30, equivalent to 5 inches).
- Enter the Top Margin portion of the menu and using the
the Down-Arrow key change the margin setting to 27.
- Save the current settings to the desired format.
