3460/3480 Interlock Error Display

Summary:
The message "INTERLOCK ERROR...CHECK INSERTION" is displayed at power on, particularly just after having installed firmware 44A513932 (3460) or 44A513933 (3480).

Resolution:


CAUSE:	The firmware is looking for the installation of the new style TRACTOR 
ASSEMBLIES or the REAR TRACTOR ASSEMBLY COVER.  The 
interlock detection is activated to ensure that gears are not exposed 
during normal operation of the printer.  The new style TRACTOR 
ASSEMBLIES can be identified by looking at the components on the small 
PCB at the left side of the tractor assembly.
			 		 		

	The REAR TRACTOR ASSEMBLY COVER (used if the rear tractors are 
not installed) should have a small PCB installed on the left side.

ACTION: 

	1)  Disable (N) the INTERLOCK option under "SYSTEM MENU OTHER OPTIONS".

	
	2)  Order the new style TRACTOR ASSEMBLIES (Part #1A3003B03) and 
REAR TRACTOR ASSEMBLY COVER if the PCB is not installed (Part 
#78402853-003)
	
	3)  After installing the new style TRACTOR ASSEMBLIES or REAR 
TRACTOR ASSEMBLY COVER, enable (Y) the INTERLOCK option 
under "SYSTEM MENU OTHER OPTIONS".
