4470/4490 SMSP and SMPE Firmware
12-07-89 Bill Betlej 02-11-97 Ed Palmer

Models: 4470 / 4490

Summary:
Firmware chips missing on new SMSP and SMPE boards.

Resolution:
SMSP and SMPE boards are shipped unpopulated. That means not only does the program and font firmware need to be transferred from the old board to the new board, but also the CMOS RAM that makes up the shared memory on the SMSP board, and the address decoder (fuse link) on the SMPE. If a defective board was returned before receiving the replacement board, the firmware EPROMS, the RAM chips, and/or or the fuselink must be ordered from GENICOM. The firmware on the SMSP and the SMPE boards *must* match. If firmware is needed for one board, please contact GENICOM Technical Support for proper part numbers. The four CMOS RAM chips are marked with TC5565APL-12. The GENICOM part number is 44A507797-002. These chips go in locations U1, U2, U3, and U4 on the SMSP. The address decoder (fuse link) is 44A511479-G219. This chip goes in U95 on the SMPE.
