Models: 4470 / 4490 Series, All

Summary:
A new serial interface option board SMHS/2 is now available.

Resolution:
A new serial interface option board SMHS/2 is now available. This board must be used in conjunction with new 70 / 90 firmware or interfacing problems may occur. The latest firmware revision is 44A513080 / 081 / 083. This firmware compensates for the difference in the clock speed of the SMHS/2 board.

* If a SMHS/2 board is used with older firmware the actual baud rate of the printer will be 2X what shows in the control panel.

* If a SMHS/1 board is used with the new firmware the actual baud rate of the printer will be 1/2 what shows in the control panel.

* If the firmware is changed the printer must be re-initialized.

Any of the above mismatches may or will cause interfacing problems.
