 Some models of 4470 and 4490 line printers were shipped with only the Centronics parallel interface.

Some models of 4470 and 4490 line printers were shipped with only the Centronics parallel
interface.  To upgrade to both the Centronics and the RS232 serial interfaces, install 
kit 44A507915-G10. 

o This kit includes the SMHS/2 serial interface board and a dual interface cable.

o The SMSP firmware MUST be 44A513080 or later to use the SMHS/2 serial interface board.

o If firmware must be upgraded, order the latest set from the following:

4470/90XT FirmWare
	· SMSP	44A514988-G19
	· SMPE	44A514996-G19	4470 only
		44A514997-G19	4471 only
		44A514998-G19	4473 only
		44A514999-G19	4490 only
	· SMHI	44A514411-G19
	· Font	44A514645-G19

o Since this firmware is  XT revision, the user may  also desire to order the 4470/90XT 
user's manual GEK-88946.

* A SMHS/2 serial interface installed into a printer with firmware older than 513080 will 
not properly set the baud rate.  The SMHS/1 is no longer in stock.
