4570 and 4590 to 4490 Conversion

Models: 4570, 4590, 4590XT

Summary:
The 4570/90 has only an IBM coax/twinax interface. For parallel or serial operation, it must be converted to a 4490XT. Once converted to a 4490, it can be placed on a network with the use of most print servers.

PROCEDURE:  The following parts will need to be replaced by a qualified technician:

Cable Assy	44C506014-G27

Firmware:
	SMSP	44A516646-G19	(4570 and 4590)
	SPIO	44A516640-G19	(4590XT)
		(The printer will have either the SMSP or SPIO board, but not both)
	SMPE	44A516641-G19
	Font	44A516560-G19
	SMHI	44A514411-G19

SMHS/2		44B502468-G02	(4570 and 4590)
		(required only for 4570 and 4590 with SMSP for serial operation)

The user will also need the user's manual GEK-88946.

NOTE: The 4592 has parallel, serial and IBM coax/twinax.
