48X2 / 49X2 Electrical Malfunction on GSGP board

Models: 48X2 / 49X2

Summary:
 48X2 and 49X2 products with a GSGP board (IGP/QMS SmartGraphics option) may not function.

CAUSE: A locking washer that secures the GSGP board to its mounting plate, is too large in diameter, shorting a logic signal lead on the board.

Resolution:
 


Remove all four (4) locking washers from the screws securing 
the board.  Verify that this action has remedied the problem and 
that the GSGP board is functional.  Perform the following steps:

1. Initialize the printer
 
2. Place the printer "OnLine" for at least 5 seconds.  This allows 
   the GSGP board time to download it's instruction set to the 
   TTLB and configure the printer.
 
3. Place the printer back in "Local" and enter the "Program" menu.
 
4. Verify that "SmartGraphics" is appears as a menu option.
 
5. Place the printer back "OnLine" and test from the host.
