Description: Ribbon Deck does not seat properly
Date: 02-11-2005

Issue / Symptom:
Missing print on the left side of the paper.

Solution/Action:

Due to mechanical tolerances in the printer and the ribbon deck, tightening the 3 Ribbon Deck mounting thumb screws completely does not cause 'some' ribbon decks to be fully seated. The tolerance problem is evident by scuff marks on the underside of the deck, one on each side, where the deck rubs against the front edges of the metal side rails.

To avoid this problem, after installing the ribbon deck and tightening the 3 thumb screws, press down VERY firmly on the front of the ribbon deck with both hands. This should cause the deck to seat correctly. Tighten the 3 thumb screws again.
