Problem
Erratic or No Printing using the Epson LQ870-ESC/P2 or LQ1170-ESC/P2 Windows Driver in Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Server, and Windows NT
 
Issue / Symptom:
The default graphics resolution for the Epson LQ870-ESC/P2 or LQ1170-ESC/P2 Windows Driver in Win XP, Win 2000, Win 2003 Server, and Win NT is 360x360. The graphics resolution must be changed to 360x180 to use these drivers or, as an alternative, the Epson Compatible 24 pin driver can be utilized.
 
Solution/Action:
Change the driver's graphics resolution to 360x180.
  • WIN XP
    Start
    > Printers and Faxes
    > Right click on the driver & select Printing Preferences
    > Graphic Print Quality
    > choose 360x180 maximum
  • WIN 2000 & WIN 2003
    Start
    > Settings
    > Printers
    > Right click on the driver & select Printing Preferences
    > Layout tab > Advanced
    > Graphic Print Quality
    > choose 360x180 maximum
  • WIN NT Start
    > Printers
    > Right click on the driver & select Document Defaults
    > Advanced Tab
    > Graphic Resolution
    > choose 360x180 maximum
